Functional Overview
The HX711 weight sensor is a device that converts mechanical quantities (such as weight or pressure) into electrical signal outputs. It represents the most common type of weight sensor, utilizing the principle that an elastic body deforms when subjected to force. Strain gauges—resistive elements bonded to the elastic body—change their resistance values in response to this deformation. A Wheatstone bridge circuit then converts these resistance changes into a voltage signal, which is subsequently amplified and processed via analog-to-digital conversion to produce a digital signal output.
